She was a bit posterior, had the cord wrapped twice around her neck, and had a bit of shoulder dystocia. But it all worked out well in the end. She arrived yesterday evening, weighing in at 7lbs 6oz. We're both doing great. :)

That's with 15 rows and 11 stitches left to go. I calculated it - I need enough yarn for 1,262 more stitches.
Now, I could of course go out and get another skein to achieve this. But this is supposed to be a stashbuster, not a stash enhancer, and if I get a whole new skein, I'll end up with more yarn than I had to begin with. This is now done, but it turned out weird. What happened was that, before starting, I looked at the needle, yarn and gauge requirements for the pattern, and, in my arrogance, decided that they wouldn't do.

What I really needed to do this past week, apparently, was think up, and become obsessed with, a new design. I knitted a sample out of scrap yarn, figured out some changes I need to make so that it works better, and am now doing up a real version in a 3-month size for a co-worker who is expecting in December. The pattern is "Estnisches Tüchlein/Estonian Shawlette", by Susanne Fritzsche. Fantastic little free pattern for a shawlette which uses Estonian stitch motifs. I believe there was only one error in the whole thing: on one row of one of the charts right near the centre stitch, a decrease was incorrectly written as a knit.
